Pakistan trails Bangladesh by 121 runs at tea

DHAKA, Bangladesh (AP) — Taufeeq Umar smashed 117 runs and remained unbeaten to help Pakistan reach 217-2 at tea on the third day of the second cricket test against Bangladesh on Monday.
Azhar Ali added 57 runs for the visitors before falling in the second session. Younis Khan was not out on 14 at the break.
Pakistan still trails Bangladesh in its first innings by 121 runs as the hosts were dismissed for 338 on Sunday.
Shakib Al Hasan finished with 1-28, while Nazmul Hossain was 1-39.
After Bangladesh failed to make a breakthrough in the fog-delayed morning session, Shakib dismissed Ali in the second.
After taking opener Mohammad Hafeez's wicket before stumps on Sunday, Nazmul failed to make any impression on the third day.
Pakistan leads the two-test series 1-0 after the visitors beat Bangladesh by an innings and 184 runs in the first test in Chittagong.

Pakistan players barred from Bangladesh club league

Dec 18, 2011: Some Pakistan players have been refused permission to play in Bangladesh's Dhaka Premier League in order to prepare for the England series

Pakistan fight back on curtailed day

Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim frustrated Pakistan in a truncated morning session, but the visitors levelled the game over the next two sessions. Bangladesh's fragility was once again on display after lunch, as the final five wickets went down for 33 runs after which Pakistan's top order responded strongly.

Until the Bangladesh lower-order collapse in the afternoon, the only impediment to the home side's progress had been the fog in Mirpur, which wiped out an hour's play. Shakib and Mushfiqur crafted a slow-and-steady stand once it cleared, to give the small but vocal crowd something to cheer about on a chilly morning.
